Odisha win title in National Netball Cricket League

Host Odisha emerged champions in the 1st National Netball Cricket League, defeating Chhattisgarh in the final by 68 runs here at SOA University Stadium today. Siddhant Jena blasted a 19-ball 52 for Odisha to be adjudged the man of the match.

Earlier in the semifinals, Odisha mauled Madhya Pradesh by nine wickets, while Chhattisgarh prevailed over Rajasthan by 68 runs. Altogether eight states participated in this T10 Tournament, which was organised by Netball Cricket Federation of India in collaboration with Netball Cricket Federation of Odisha from May 5.

Despite the presence of a number of Ranji Trophy players in the Odisha team, the event failed to make even a modest impact as the organising officials confined their role to just appearing in a pre-tournament press conference.
